She was born in Naples, a daughter, of Elmore A. and Emma L. Noble York, and attended Naples schools. She was a 1925 graduate of Cornish High School.
She worked at local motels and hotels in the Naples area. In 1932 she relocated to the Portland area and, during World War II, worked at the East Shipyard. She then worked as a baker at the Splendid Restaurant until the sixties, then as a cook for the Falcon Restaurant in Freeport, and at Pine Point Manor in Scarborough. She later worked for Seaside Nursing Home in Portland, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Freeport.
A son, Stanley E., died in 1978.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert Paul Broy of Scarborough, Harold R. Broy of Waldorf, Md., and Albert D. Broy of South Portland; four sisters, Mrs. Hilda Estes of West Baldwin, Mrs. Tressa Dyer of Freeport, and Mrs. Ruby Heath and Mrs. Doris Hall, both of Fryeburg; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Freeport with the Rev. Ehrmann Bennett officiating. Burial is in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
