MUNDAY - Briana Burkhammer, 60, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Benjamin Cemetery in Benjamin with Edward Hart officiating. Arrangements are by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home of Munday.

Briana was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Seymour. She was a Baptist. She dedicated her life to her children and enjoyed her grandchildren. She was responsible for bringing the Little Britches Rodeo Association to Lockney in the 1970s, and she also opened a recreation center for the kids in Lockney during this time. She volunteered her time to various hospitals in the area. Her favorite pastime was fishing. During the last seven years, she was a part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice family. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Burkhammer and wife Tonya of Fritch, Fred Burkhammer and wife Kim of Ravenna and Dale Burkhammer and wife Schree of Amarillo; a brother, Fred Bufkin and wife Shannon of Farwell; seven grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous extended family members.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., in Amarillo.
