Steven Alan Wanek Bartlett, of rural Richland Center, died April 14, 2020 of Covid 19 and pneumonia. He was the son of Jon Claude and Jean Wanek Bartlett. Steven was born on November 19, 1973 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to birth parents Bonnie Shaw and Terry Ziesemer. At the age of 2 he came to join the Bartlett family and several years later was adopted. The judge asked if he had anything to say. Steven replied, “is this People’s Court”?

He confirmed his faith at Salem United Methodist Church at the age of 14 with his dad as pastor.

Steven attended Salem Grade School and graduated from Wilmot High School.

Steven was passionate cars. He could tell you the make, model and year of a car. He enjoyed collecting key chains. Challenges came to Steven as he grew older, but he always had the love and support of family, friends and caregivers to see him through the tough times. Going to a Packer game was an experience he always remembered. He enjoyed listening to music, which gave him happiness as well as comfort for his life. Steven took piano lessons and carefully played his favorite hymns. He looked forward to his part time job at Vernon Area Rehabilitation Center in Richland Center, Wisconsin.

Holidays and special occasions were always exciting when Steven could celebrate with his extended family and visit for several days.

Besides his parents, Steven is survived by:
his sister Amy Bartlett Gonzalez and her husband Hugo and sons, Oscar, Jose and Hugo
his brother Nathan Bartlett his wife Courtney and sons Cole and Callan
his grandmother, Betty Bartlett
he is also survived by many favorite uncles and aunts, cousins and friends that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Geraldine Wanek and grandfather, Claude Bartlett.

We are grateful to the staff of Ninovan, Kanton and Hillside Homes for their kindness and care of Steven. Thank you to the staff of Inclusa for their guidance.

With gratitude we give thanks to the staff in the Special Care Unit of the Richland Hospital and for Dr. Jacob Kallaith and Dr. Jamie Dickman.

It was an honor to have Steven as a son and brother.

A memorial service will be at Blue River United Methodist Church at a later date. Private burial will be in the Coumbe Cemetery, Richwood Township. Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family.
