"FLORIDA MAN DIES IN FLORIDA: N. K. BOWDEN is Dead at White Springs Following Long Illness--Funeral in Columbus Satuday Afternoon. // N. K. BOWDEN, formerly a prominent citizen of Columbus, died yesterday morning at White Sulphur [sic - White Springs], Fla., according to information reaching the city yesterday. For the past several years Mr. BOWDEN, with his family, has been living in Florida. He had been in ill health for some time. // Mr. BOWDEN was well known in Columbus, where he lived practically all his life. He was for many years proprietor of the Palace Stables. He was born in Meriwether county, November 22, 1866. He is survived by his wife and two children, Dorothy and N. K., Jr.; three sisters, Mrs. M. D. WALLER and Mrs. A. T. REESE, of Midland, and Mrs. L. E. CALLIER, of Talbotton, and two brothers, T. J. BOWDEN, of Atlanta and M. M. BOWDEN of Midland. // The body will arrive here at 5:20 o'clock this afternoon from White Springs and will be taken to the residence of Henry R. SHERIDAN, 2926 Hamilton avenue, from which place the funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock." [Columbus (GA) Enquirer-Sun newspaper, Friday, 16 SEP 1921, p. 2.
