6-40 William Malone (b. 6-11-1774 Sussex Co, VA - 1827 /34 Limestone Co, AL), [154] son of Daniel Malone 5-7, probably m. 1st Virginia ____ (d. after 8-11-1801) [6 12] m. 2nd in Sussex Co, VA 1 8 0 1 Jane Wilborn (Wilburn ) (c 18 2 5 - 4-20-1875 Limestone Co, AL) [8, Vol. 2, p 137; 72g; 173; 154; 10, p 103;,611 pp 1 67, 169] Daniel Malone 5-7 was involved in many records with William Wilborn. William and Jane Malone moved to Limestone Co, AL c 1818-1820. [61 1, pp 167, 169, 612] The book "Lure & Lore of Limestone County" shows this William as a brother of John Petway Malone 6 -__ , son of Michael Malone 5 -5, [611, p 167] but John Petway Malone was Michael's only son, as demonstrated by his will as well as his daughter Rebecca's will. [2 29a] This William was close to Michael's family, however, and it was probably he who witnessed Michael' s will. [170a] John Pettway Malone was executor of the 1835 will of John Hobbs Lucas, father-in-law of William 6-40's son William E. Malone 7-63. ( See below.) [614a, p 20; 614o, p 53] William 6-40 did not leave a will, but there are estate records, showing his wife "Jane S . Malone" as administratrix in 1834. [614p, 594t] Jane W. Malone is buried at Bethlehem Church Cem., Limestone Co, AL [594t]

7-62 Mary Ann Briggs Malone ( 8-11-1801 Sussex Co, VA - 10-19-1870 Limestone Co, AL: ) m. Henry Murray Yarbrough (4-1-1785 - 12 - 14- 1854 Limestone Co, AL). No marriage record has been found for this couple, so the marriage date is unknown. A news article and estate records combine to indicate their relationship, however. From the Athens Post, 10-28-1870 issue: ''Mrs. Mary Ann Briggs Yarbrough, aged 69, died 10-19-1870. born Sussex Co, VA on 8-11-1801 and moved to Limestone Co. in the spring of 1818 with her parents William & Virginia Malone ..." [612] From this article we glean the information that William 6-40's first wife was named "Virginia" . She must have died in child birth with Mary Ann, because records indicate that William 6-40 married Jane Wilborn in 1801. Jane shows as the adm. of William's estate, and a record shows Henry Yarbrough receiving a note of payment from the estate on behalf of his wife, "daughter of William Malone". [614p] The above news article is apparently correct in every respect except the item about "Virginia" moving to Limestone Co., AL with William in 1818. Henry is buried in Gordon Cem, Limestone Co, AL. Mary' s grave has not been found. [594t] Their children: [594t]
