He was stationed at the DMZ as they were on high-alert due to This U.S.S. Pueblo being captured. They were also on guard duty, guarding the munitions shack and were to carry their protection...but their protection was not allowed to be loaded due to concerns it would start a national incident. It is my understanding that they were guarding where the Pueblo was due to concern of war!
