She was preceded in death by her husband Milton Aiken, 2 brothers, Walter Cleveland and Archie Cleveland, 2 sisters, Gertrude Partlow and Lucinda Davis.
Survivors include one son, whom she adored, Larry Milton (Dr. Lolita) Aiken, NC; 1 grandson, Lamont (Carmen) Aiken Tampa, FL; 1 granddaughter, Brandi (Leland Prather) Aiken, NC; 1 sister, Flora Anderson Gainesville, GA; 3 grandchildren, Yesenia, Addison Marie and Kaeden Aiken, 1 special god-daughter and niece, Theresa (Thomas Hailey) Puryear, 1 nephew, Bishop Harold (Jean) Anderson, a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Aiken lived her life serving others. She clothed and fed the community out of her home. She believed in education and was instrumental in ensuring the Black vote in Hall County, GA. She worked for Central Baptist Church for over 25 years where she received the Distinguished Service Award. She also worked at the Hall County Library System for over 50 years where she received a Proclamation from the city of Gainesville, GA; and a Letter of Accommodation for Service from President Bill Clinton. She worked up to 80 years of age. She lived a life of advocacy for social justice and was the voice of people without a voice.
