Greystoke "Bubba" and I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Mark and Lisa for sponsoring Bubba's memorial. It means so much. Thanks again!!!

Greystoke Deluca Davis, more commonly known as "Bubba" was a beloved big grey Maine Coon cat rescued by Tiffany and her mother Diane in 2004. Someone left Greystoke as a little kitten in Tiffany and Diane's backyard on Christmas Eve 2004. They adopted Greystoke that very day although the feral kitten would take a full 6 months to let us finally approach and pet him. After that, he had found his forever home with us.
Greystoke was a bundle of joy who had some very fun and mischievous ideas for a young kitten. One day I got the biggest laugh of my life when I saw Greystoke hop on the back of my West Highland Terrier Versace and ride her all over the backyard like he was a seasoned cowboy. He continued this for quite sometime until one day we got the sad news Versace was dying of cancer and sadly Greystoke lost his favorite canine friend.

In 2007 I had to move from a house to a duplex, but Greystoke was just happy to be with me. He became the best indoor cat and best friend anyone could ever ask for. He also adored my mother. He was there for me morning, noon and night through my Lupus illness and was just the sweetest, most loving, inspiring, dear, precious cat I had ever known. We had a tight, tight bond and to say I adored him would be an understatement.

Greystoke loved my other kitty his sister Kitty Cous Cous and we were all just one very happy family. Greystoke loved to play with his sister, me and all of the toys I spoiled him with. We were a team for 15 beautiful years. I also taught him to give me a kiss. I'd tell him several times a day "Bubba, give me a kiss" and he would take his brown nose and rub my nose with it. I taught him so many words. Bubba knew a great deal of words and their meanings. He was an extremely smart cat.
Greystoke was doing just fine on Superbowl Sunday and my mom and I and Greystoke had a wonderful time petting him, hooting and hollering at the game and we all just had the best day. But the day after the Superbowl Greystoke fell I'll. He would no longer eat, was very weak and we took him to the vet. The vet told us he tested positive for fiv (feline hiv) and had a very bad infection. Greystoke never really ate ever again, but would drink water. We took him 3 times a week for iv fluids, antibiotic shots, steroids to try to and get him eating again. But no, at the age of 15 1/2 Greystoke was sadly failing and never to be well again. We shed so many tears over our beloved best friend of 15 1/2 years. On February 17, 2020 at 2:00 a.m. Greystoke left this world. It was just so traumatic, devastating and terrible to lose him like this. He really touched my heart that cat like no other. I know he made a successful transition over the rainbow bridge where he waits for me and my mother to someday join him. As Greystoke was passing a song came on the t.v. to comfort me "I'll Be Seeing You." The song has played 4 more times since I lost him on t.v. shows and movies I was watching. I consider this to be a sign from him. Prior to all of this I had never heard that song before in 46 years of living. So it is our special song.

Thank you Greystoke for 15 1/2 beautiful years with you. I just cannot stop crying over you my dearest, sweetest friend. It is going to take me a very, very long time to get over the grief of losing such a special friend. I love you forever my beloved Maine Coon "Bubba" Greystoke Deluca Davis. Thanks for bringing so much light and happiness to my life over the years. Mom really misses you too my sweetest friend. Goodbye for now, until we meet again someday. Hugs and kisses I send your way. Love, Tiffany and Diane.
