Arthur B. Shughart
Arthur B. Shughart, 75, of E. 9th St. passed away this past week in his home. Art was born on Sept. 20, 1928, to William and Julia (Quodonce) Shughart in Duluth. He attended Arnold Elementary and other Duluth Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army, then worked as a truck driver, and sailed the Great Lakes as a Seaman. He was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea, AARP, and Senior Coalition. He was an enrolled member of the Grand Portage Tribe. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Shughart; his wife, Beverly Shughart; and sisters, Ruth Meyers, Louise Burnett, Florence Cooper and Evelyn Clarke. He is survived by a stepson, Patrick Merkley of Bonito Springs, Fla.; a sister, Rose Wyczinski of New London, Conn.; a brother, William Shughart of Duluth; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. VISITATION:Private services will be held at a later date. Burial at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery, Hermantown, Minn. Arrangements are by Johnson Crawford Funeral & Cremation Services.
