Darrell was born in Breaux Bridge to the late Annessey and Birdie Latiolais Benoit. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Darrell proudly served in the U.S. Marine Reserves for eight years following graduation. He was a barber for 28 years before becoming an insurance agent for Farm Bureau, where he worked for over ten years. Darrell was an usher for St. Bernard Catholic Church, KC member, Cursillo movement, volunteer fireman, and a member of the BBHS Quarterback Club, Pelba Hunting Club, and the Whiskey Bay Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his grandchildren, gardening, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Darrell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Broussard Benoit; sons, Clint Benoit and wife Jackie, Jake Benoit and wife Estelle, and Boyd Benoit and wife Jena; brother, Harry L. Benoit and wife Bobbie; grandchildren, Victoria, Jason, James, Jack, Luke, Rowyn, Rhett, and Ruston; godchildren, Lailor Angelle and Blaine Thibodeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annessey John Benoit and Birdie Latiolais Benoit, and a grandson, Benjamin Jude Benoit.
