Mr. Fleger was born on October 28, 1930 in Drumheller, Alberta Canada, the son of the late Wesley and Ermina Fleger. He worked for Coca Cola, the local radio station CJDV, and was a volunteer firefighter in Alberta until 1971. Kenny moved his family to Salt Lake City in 1971 where he started his professional hockey training career with the Western Hockey League Salt Lake Golden Eagles. His career continued to thrive when he accepted the Equipment Trainer position with the World Hockey Association Phoenix Roadrunners in 1974. He also worked with the Indianapolis Racers and then Dallas Blackhawks in 1978 when they won the Central Hockey League Championship. From 1979 to 1997 he was an equipment trainer for the Vancouver Canucks, New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres, and retired with the Boston Bruins. He was known as "the Doc" around the National Hockey League and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004. He loved his family and extended family in the hockey world. Kenny was very giving and loved everyone he worked with. He made many good friends during his career and life and will be dearly missed.
