Andrew Willis "Bud" Locklin, born at Ellison Ridge in Milam Co., TX - Son of William Hardeman Locklin and Prescilla Ellison.

Brother of Ellena, an Infant Sibling, Lora, Anna Lorena "Annie", Allie Mae, Cora Beatrice "Teet", Henry Oliver "Ol", Jesse Daniel and Effie Mae Locklin.

Bud married, before 1907, Pearl Luann Baird, a daughter of Joseph D and Eunice H Baird.

Father of William Henry "Dutch", Andrew Weldon "Rusty", Annie "Irene", Elijah Edward "Bill", Pearl Pauline "Polly", J D "Mutt", El Frances "Sue", Willis Murrell "Chris", Raleigh Don, Billie Joe, Gerald Gene and Barbara Nell "Bobbie" Locklin.

Grandson of Alteman Livingston Locklin & Mary Elizabeth Fokes and Alexander Ellison & Angeline Bird.

Suicide Victim is
Buried at Locklin
Cemetery Sunday


Thorndale, Aug. 15.--Funeral services for A. W. Locklin, 63, were held Sunday at the Baptist Church here with Rev. T. L. Collier officiating. Burial was in the Locklin cemetery.

Mr. Locklin died Friday night in a Taylor hospital. His wife found him lying in his garage at 4 p. m. with a bullet wound in his head. A .45-caliber pistol was beside him. He died in the hospital four hours later. Justice of the Peace E. C. Hoppe conducted an inquest and returned a verdict of suicide.

Mr. Locklin was night watchman and former constable.

Survivors include his widow; five daughters, Mr. W. L. Matthews of Sugarland, Mrs. William Fricke of Lexington, Mrs. John Eanes of Cameron and Miss Barbara Nell Locklin of Thorndale; seven sons, W. H. of Cameron, Weldon, J. D. and Gerald Gene of Thorndale, Murrell of Austin and Sgt. Billy Joe Locklin, U. S. Army, Albuquerque, N. M.

Note: The monument for Bud and Pearl was purchased in 1980, at the time of Pearl's death, by their daughter - Annie "Irene" Locklin. At the same time, Irene purchased the marker for her little brother, Raleigh Don Locklin, as he had been without a marker since the time of his death. (This information received from Irene's son, Michael Jack Mathews.)
