She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Elton of Dixmont; her father, William H. Bird Sr. of Plymouth; five children, three daughters, Donna Furrow of Knox, Mary Lemieux and her husband, Terry, of Sterling, Va. and Linda Erskine of Dixmont; two sons, Richard Erskine and his wife, Gaye, of Solon and Mark Erskine and his wife, Chrissy, of Dixmont; two sisters, Sally Millett of Newport and Janet Godsoe and her husband, Lee Godsoe Sr. of Newport; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a special friend, Donna Noble of New Haven, Vt.
She was predeceased by her mother and brother, William H. "Billy" Bird Jr.
Private visitation for the family will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Dixmont Corner Cemetery, Western Avenue, Dixmont, with Pastor Peg Moser, pastor of the Dixmont United Methodist Church officiating. Following the service, the family invites family and friends to a memorial gathering at the Gold Crest Riders Snowmobile Club House in Dixmont.
