In her early childhood, she accepted Christ and was baptized at the Ways Grove Baptist Church in Stellaville, Georgia. Naomi was educated in the Jefferson County School System and Bettis Academy in South Carolina.
As a young adult she moved to New York City, where she married Robert Lee Perment. A daughter was born of this union. After her husband's passing in 1944, she returned to Augusta.
On April 29, 1950, Naomi wed Deacon Mose Abraham and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church shortly thereafter. To this union a daughter was born. Deacon Abraham preceded her in death in 1984. Tabernacle was an integral part of her life and she was an active member until she was overtaken by illness. During her fifty-five year tenure she worked with the Senior Usher Board, Lydia Bible School Class. Missionaries, October Birthday Club and the R.A. Dent Senior Club. She was proud of being named a Mother of the Church.
Naomi was outgoing, with a warm spirit and a great with. She had a natural gift for public speaking. She loved to tell little jokes and make people laugh. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Atlanta Braves. She attended her first baseball game when she was in her eighties and never got tired of talking about "her team." She retired from the Richmond County School System in 1975.
Through illness, trials and tribulations, she never complained. She fought a good fight, she kept the faith. On Tuesday, January 11, 2005, Naomi answered her Savior's call and went home to her reward.
