STEPHEN WAYNE STEINMARK, son of Reuben William and Fannie Rosalene Welch Steinmark, was born September 28, 1963, in Lebanon, Missouri, and departed this life January 20, 2020, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years.

Steve, as he was known to family and friends, attended school in Buffalo and graduated with the class of 1982. He made many friends and stayed in touch with several of them over the years.

Steve was a hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He worked at Marathon Electric and the Lowe Boats for a period of time before starting his career in the towing service. He was the owner and operator of “Steve Steinmark Towing” for over twenty years. Steve earned much deserved respect from the community for his professionalism. He was always eager to lend a helping hand wherever he could.

Although it seemed Steve was always working, he also enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He loved to hunt. He also enjoyed fishing, building, carpentry, and working on cars. Steve enjoyed dirt track racing. Anytime he could be outdoors, he was happy. However, nothing compared to the time spent and countless memories shared with his grandbabies. They were his pride and joy.

Steve is survived by one daughter, Stacey Cook and her husband David of Plato, MO; one son, Steven Steinmark and his wife Heather of Lebanon, MO; his life partner, Diana Steinmark of Lebanon, MO; one brother, Charley Steinmark, also of Lebanon, MO; four sisters, Peggy Fox of Springfield, MO, Darlene Snoddy of Nixa, MO, Marlene Witt and her husband Carl of Buffalo, MO, Madonna Walker and her husband Barry of Preston, MO; six grandchildren, Carli, Carson and Cambrey Cook, Xander Steinmark, Alayna Becker and Charlea Owens; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Bill, John, Paul and George Steinmark.

Those who knew Steve will forever cherish the stories and memories they shared over the years. His kind heart and contagious laughter will be greatly missed by his family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Steve’s family. Donations may be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, MO 65536
