Elizabeth C. "Beth" Abbey, age 61, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Pittsburg, PA after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was born July 22, 1958 in Anaheim, CA, a daughter of Leif & Doris (Cunningham) Sortland. Beth was a graduate of Elmira Academy and EBI (Elmira Business Institute). Beth was a medical transcriber at Arnot Ogden Medical Center for over 35 years. Beth married Jon Abbey on June 6, 1998; he survives. Beth was predeceased by her father, Leif and a sister, Lisa Green.
Beth was a member of the Grace & Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Geneseo.
Beth enjoyed reading her devotions, vacationing, traveling; in her youth she traveled to Norway, she also enjoyed flying and going for walks, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband, Jon and her family. She had an amazing smile and was a loving, faithful & caring wife.
Beth is survived by her husband of 21 years, Jon; her mother, Doris Sortland; her sister, Linda (Lee) Harvey; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and dear friends and church family.
Interment at Clearview Cemetery, North Cohocton, New York.
