Linda was the wife of Herbert S. Lane and the mother of Arlene F. Lane, and John S. Lane. She met Herbert walking to her bus stop when she was a teenager. Herbert worked on the farm across the street from her childhood home. They married on May 29, 1965. Herbert died on December 8, 1986. Linda was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother. She traveled several times to England during the 1970's and again in the 1990's with her best friend Anita. Herbert and Linda and their children made several cross country trips during the 1970's and eventually moved to Oregon, where they lived from 1979 until 1984. They returned to Dutchess county in 1984, and Linda lived there until 2001, where she then moved to North Carolina to be closer to her mother and daughter. She resided with Arlene until her unexpected death 3 days after Christmas. She suffered from severe psoriatic arthritis and Anemia, the former finally ending her life. She was an avid reader and loved to interior design. She worked in floral design for many years. She leaves behind her children Arlene and John Lane, granddaughters Kristy Lynn and Kayla Marie. Her ashes were given to family.
