Lynne Suzanne {Carter Young}-Hummel.
born: 3/3/1944
died: 10/22/2019.
My precious wife and helpmate and soulmate and team-mate for over 31 years.
Lynne was raised in Long Island, NY, and near Manchester, New Hampshire. She also lived in central Florida, Phoenix, Arizona, and {for the last 30+ years of her life} in Cebu City, Philippines.
She always felt the loss of her father at an early age when she only 8 years old. Her father died of a heart attack in mid-life. Lynne always felt somewhat or even much abandoned and isolated and lonely all her childhood and (sadly) also during much of her adult life. It wasn't until she met Jesus, as her personal Savior and as THE TRUE LOVE of her life that she began to live a life of fullness and joy and peace. - This revelation and encounter with the LORD was in the mid-1970's. It turned her life around very dramatically.
From her mid-30's to her passing at at 75, Lynne was a tireless witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. A true prayer-warrior and evangelist and teacher.
After working with a number of churches in America and heading up the prayer-team and the house-to-house witness-team at Phoenix First Assembly of God, Lynne soon began her overseas mission-trips in 1987-88. Then, in late 1988 she launched into full time missions just two months after she married Evangelist Len Hummel in October of 1988, and by December of that year they were full time on the mission field in the Philippines and Asia from 1988 to 2019, - over 31 years!
This is her husband speaking: "Lynne was never really what you might call "grown-up" or "adult-like". She was a very mature, very competent and very childlike-adult. Most everything she did was for the LORD and for others. She was a gem. A real treasure. There was no one else quite like her." - This is one of the reasons she was so drawn to minister to children and to the Filipino people because most Filipinos are, very generally and truth be told, very childlike in their both their faith and manner. Therefore she pretty much fit right in there perfectly.
Lynne and Len began a missions-church outreach in the mid-1990's in a very poor and neglected urban area of Cebu City, Philippines. It was called, THE JESUS PRAISE & WORSHIP CENTER. There was a children's feeding program 5 and even 6 days a week for up to 500-600 children! - and this went on every week for over 13 years! They also held regular bible studies and a Sunday afternoon worship service which was always filled to capacity and very much filled with life and the Presence of the Holy Spirit.
Along with that, Clearlight Ministries {the official name of the mission organzation} wrote and printed and distributed many hundreds of thousands of Gospel tracts and booklets in both English and Cebuano.
Everything Lynne did was to serve on the mission field, witness to others, and serve her husband, who she knew loved her as the dear and special love of his life.

She is missed very very much by everyone who ever knew her and loved her. and it must be said that to know her was to love her. she was a child, a woman, a true servant of GOD and His Son.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Great is your reward in Heaven and The Kingdom.
