Robert S. Gatherum, III, 77, of Reidsville, NC, and formerly of Bluefield, died Wednesday January 8, 2020 in Reidsville.
Born October 8, 1942 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Robert S. Gatherum, II and Helen Bradley Gatherum.
Mr. Gatherum worked in medical sales and was a member of Bland Street United Methodist Church in Bluefield. He was a family man, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and attended their ballgames.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Gatherum; and one sister, Margaret Gatherum Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Leslie Baker and husband Brad of Reidsville, NC; brother, James B. Gatherum and wife Diane of Concord, NC; brother-in-law, Will Smith and wife Karen of Bastian, VA; two grandsons, Brett and Brice Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday January 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bland Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Brent Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
