Domingo M. Garcia, age 93, of Brownwood passed away Sunday night at the Redstone Park Assisted Living Center in Brownwood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 8, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 7 PM. He was born January 2, 1927 in Santa Anna, Texas the son of Manuel and Eduarda Garcia. He graduated from high school and later attended some college majoring in accounting. He was married to Josephine Rodriquez on May 6, 1950. She preceded him in death in 2010. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad as a welder. He grew up in Santa Anna and had lived in Brownwood most of his life. He loved baseball, especially the Texas Rangers and had previously been a coach and baseball announcer. He enjoyed Mexican music and trains and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by two sons, James Garcia and wife Juanita of Dallas and Val Garcia and wife Tammy of Bangs, two brothers, Victor Garcia of Monterrey, Mexico and Frank “Pancho” Garcia of Santa Anna, four sisters, Rosa Amelia of Corpus Christi, Nellie of California, Louisa of California, and Julia of Santa Anna, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
