LaRayne Ebelsheiser, 82, of Hedrick, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

She was born Friday, Feb. 15, 1929, in Burt, Mich., the daughter of Roy and Rosa Morse Rumsey. She graduated from Tacoma, Wash., High School with the class of 1947. Following school, she worked for AC Delco in Flint, Mich., until it closed.

On June 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Dallas Ebelsheiser at Folkston, Ga., he died July 23, 2006. Following her marriage she worked at Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, Fla., until 1971. Lastly she worked for Children's Home Society as a social worker for foster children until her husband became ill and she retired to care for him.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Cloggin' Grannies and the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing the organ.

She is survived by her three daughters, Ginnie King of Hedrick, Bobbie (Chris) Bradley of Anamosa and Machelle Parrish of Monticello, Ky.; a son, Stephen Roy of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Jeanie Jagel of Flint, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Mark Parrish, two brothers, Roy Rumsey and Richard Rumsey; and four sisters, Leona Gray, Leota Larson, Phyllis Dodd and Dawn Wagnor.
