He was a loving and devoted husband to Dolly Manges Fancher for 49 years. He was a wonderful father and role model to his four children: Joe Fancher and his wife Suzanne, Nancy Fancher, Darlene O'Hara and her husband Rick, and Bruce Fancher and his wife Nina. Boyd was also a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He proudly served in the Army in WWII. After serving his country, Boyd earned his masters degree and became an educator.
Boyd was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Boyd always said his greatest treasure was his family.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his two sisters, Theda and Linda.
He is survived by Wilma Bell, Bill Fancher, Mary Hestand, Sue Haworth, Paula Skillman, Kay and Sid Fancher.
Services held Jul 24 at Zoeller Funeral Home. Graveside services were held Jul 25 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
