John H. Broughton, age 89, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born November 26, 1917 in Warren, Arkansas. John was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 36 years in Denver. After John's first wife, Eleanor Kohrs, died in 1981, he met and married Telise Courville Johnsen, who was the widow of a former Special Agent. John and Telise had a wonderful 22 years together. John was active in the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio, the Society of former Special Agents, and the San Antonio Kiwanis Club. John is survived by his beloved wife, Telise, and his three daughters, Linda Mendez of Denver, Colorado, Sally Broughton Culter of Prescott, Arizona, and Judy Broughton Gonzales of Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as stepchildren, Telise Johnsen of Madison, Wisconsin and Mark Johnsen of Bulverde, Texas. Memorial Service, Monday, February 12, 2007 3:00 P.M., First Presbyterian Church, 404 North Alamo with Rev. George Sturch officiating. The family will receive friends for a reception following the service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the church. You are invited to sign the guestbook at www.porterloring.com.
