He gave his heart to Jesus at home and was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from International Playing Card and Label Company after 37 years of service and was currently working at the Rogersville Review. Luther was an avid motorcyclist and loved to garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Ellis and Bessie Goins Arrington; sisters, Lucille Manis, Jerline Carmack, and Edith Davidson; and brothers, Don Arrington, Clarence Arrington, and Hugh Arrington. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Catron Arrington of the home; two daughters, Alivia Renee Arrington and Juanita Ailene Arrington both of Rogersville; two grandsons, Lucas Keith McGinnis and Joseph Ryan McGinnis; sister, Myrtle Albright of Rogersville; two brothers, Doug Arrington of Duck Town and Paul Arrington of Idaho; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends anytime at the residence and from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel Rev. Freddie Wilder and Rev. Doug Arrington officiating. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
