Graveside services with full military honors for Jack Dean Armstrong, 64, Baldwin, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Prairie City Cemetery in Baldwin.
He died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1992, at Colmery O'Neil V.A. Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born March 16, 1928, at Hutchinson, to Ulysses "Jack" and Kay Burchett Armstrong. His family moved from Hutchinson to Lawrence when he was 8. He grew up in Lawrence and attended schools here.
After receiving his education, he entered military service with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He later returned to service with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he was a weapons specialist. He was discharged in June 1963 and has been on medical disability since serving in the military.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and working on cars.
On March 31, 1964, he married Dorothy Nadine Baker in Topeka. They lived in rural Leavenworth county, near Lawrence, until moving to Baldwin in 1972. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jackie Armstrong, of the home, and Carolina Buck, Topeka; four sons, Jack Dean Armstrong Jr., of Buhler, Richard Baker, of Baldwin, Timothy Armstrong, of Germany, and Michael Armstrong, Lawrence; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Friends may visit from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
