Susan Steelman, age 60, of Biloxi, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 in Biloxi. She was born in Japan and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1960. She was Catholic and formerly active in social and charitable organizations on the Coast. She was the Queen of Merry Makers Carnival in 1992. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nick Leva and a brother, Fred Leva.
Mrs. Steelman is survived by her husband, Ernest "Bo" Steelman of Biloxi; three daughters, Robyn Delk (Todd) of Gulfport, Brandi Strahan Scarborough (William) of Pass Christian, and Dusty Layton (Randy) of Mobile, AL; two brothers, Nick Leva of South Carolina and David Leva of Long Beach; her mother, Edna Leva of Biloxi; three grandchildren, Rusty LeJeune, Taylor Delk, and Megan Layton; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas LeJeune and Bradley LeJeune.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
