Son of James Sidney Dewhurst (Aka McPherson)and Rose Lily Colsell.

Married to Wanda Ruth Harman on 1/2/1945

Born on Lily Street next to Rose in San Francisco to Lily Rose and Sidney McPherson, Allan sent his childhood in Crockett, CA. After Graduating from John Sweet High school, Allan went on a full football scholarship to Gonzaga University. The outbreak of WWII canceled athletic scholarships, so Allan came back to the Bay area and attended College of Marin. Hearing he would be drafted, Allan enlisted in the Navy. He went to Flight Trainiing School in Corpus Christie, Texas then was transferred to Norman, Oklahoma where he worked as a Flight Instructor. There he met his future wife, Wanda Ruth Harman, who was part of a business sorority that had dances with the Officers Club. They married and were sent to Tampa, Florida where Allan flew supplies back and forth between there and Buenas Aires. After the war, he went ho9me and attended UC Berkeley getting a Business Degree. He wentto work for the SF Board of Trade until 1952, when he was offered a job at Owens-Illinois Glass Company. He worked in the Glass Bottle division and was transferred to LA, then to company headquarters in Toledo where he became Asst. Director. His family was unhappy and missing family, so in 1960, he accepted a transfer back to San Francisco, where he became Manager of the Pacific Coast Division. He also was President of the West Coast Glass Bottlers Association for several years. Retiring in 1975, he and Wanda moved to Paradise so Allan could fish and play tennis. When Wanda predeceased him in 1987, he moved back to Marin County to be near his children and grandchildren who lovingly called him Baba. Allan was the third generation (known) of Masons in his family. He and Wanda are buried in Grave 34, Row A of the Masonic section of the Paradise Cemetery.
