He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County and retired as a mechanic from Champion Wood Products and later retired as a bus driver from the Ware County Board of Education. He also served in the United States Air Force and attended Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Butler was a son of the late Johnie B. Butler, Sr. and Alice Golden Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Butler of Dixie Union; his adopted son, Herbert Golden (wife Edna) of Waycross; a brother, Herald Butler of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other special friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (October 19, 2019) at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Blackshear. Burial will follow at Golden Cemetery in Dixie Union. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening at Music Funeral Home from 5 until 7 o’clock.
