Birdie passed away at age 85. She married John Richmond Howell in January of 1898 in Missouri. They had eight children; Nellie Howell (b. Sept. 10, 1891), John Richmond Howell (b. Sept. 1, 1899, d. July 9, 1968), Susie Howell (b. Sept. 30, 1901), Elizabeth "Betty" Denmie Howell Angelen (b. Apr. 21, 1904), Cora Howell O'Keefe (b. Jan. 9, 1907), Charles Thomas Howell (b. Aug. 16, 1909, d. Nov. 13, 1975), Grace Isabell "Jerrie" Howell Allen Pierson (b. March 1, 1912, d. Nov. 12, 1996), Jacqueline Fern Howell Pierce (b. Sept. 5, 1915, d. Nov. 8, 1967). Birdie's second marriage was to Hugh Edson Allen, the older brother of her daughter, Jerrie's, husband, Erchell George Allen. She and Hugh had two children; Ella May "Jessie" Howell Lewallen (b. Mar. 31, 1920, d. Apr. 7, 1959) and Brice "Tiny" Allen, Sr (Nov. 11, 1922, d. Feb. 2, 1998). She had one brother, Dave Moss.
