Mrs. Juanita Lee Jones Kaser DeWeese, age 88, of West Lafayette, Indiana formerly of Madison, Indiana entered this life on October 22, 1930 in Wofford, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late James Warren and Lov Vernia Griffith Jones. She graduated in 1948 from Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was first united in marriage to Donald Gene Kaser and this union was blessed with a daughter, Melody Ruth and a son, Mark Dee. She had owned and operated Kaser Printing in Goshen, Indiana for 12 years; Juanita was the creator of Original and Still Only Television Show for District Four American Legion in Fort Wayne, Indiana, "The American Legion News". She then worked as the administrative assistant for Indiana University and Purdue University at the Fort Wayne Campus for 13 years. Juanita was proud to have worked and volunteered with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for over 51 years. On December 19, 1981, Juanita was united in marriage to William Oliver De Weese in Ossian, Indiana. They resided in Ossian and were members of New Hope Lutheran Church until moving to Madison in September of 2002. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, Historic Madison, Inc.and had served as President of the Docent Board of Directors in 2013, Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary, Madison VFW Post No. 1969 Auxiliary, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Juanita loved to volunteer and serve the communities where she lived. She also was an avid bowler for many years and had a great passion for contributing to Father Flanagan's Boys' Home and was honored for her contributions in 2015 & 2018. She had help in coordinating in 1999 the Fall Conference for District 11 for Toastmaster International. Juanita also was a supporter of the Annual Fund for the Cleveland Clinic and contributed annually to this charity and she received the Heart Award for helping as many children as possible through Spinoza's "buddy bear project". She enjoyed her association with the Emmerich Manual High School Alumni Association and her membership in the "Fifty Year Club". In 1996 she served as the Indiana State Delegate to the Indiana House of Representatives.In November 2005, Juanita was honored by the David Parrish Post 296 of the American Legion in Fort Wayne for 50 years of service in volunteer work. With her desire to always help children, Juanita was honored in October 2018 with a Certificate of Appreciation for her generous help with the St. Joseph's Indian School. She also was honored by Aid Association for Lutherans in 1996 by AAL Branch 4977 for her inspiring commitment to help others. Juanita and Bill had recently moved to West Lafayette to the Indiana Veteran's Home when their health declined and they needed more care.

Juanita will be missed by her loving husband of 38 years, William "Bill" Oliver DeWeese of West Lafayette, Indiana; her loving daughter, Melody Ruth Kaser Urgo and her husband, Richard of Indianapolis, Indiana; her loving son, Mark Dee Kaser and his wife, Libby Alexander of Louisville, Kentucky; her step daughters, Deborah DeWeese and her husband, Matrin Ingemansen of Janesville, Nancy DeWeese of Antioch, Illinois; her step son, Greg DeWeese and his wife, Jonnetta of Hamilton, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jessica, Katherine, Daniel, Nathan, and Peter; her step grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Tamara, Matthew and Sarah; her sister, Loretta Chupp of Kalamazoo, Michigan; her sister in laws, Alice Naylor and her husband, William of Valparaiso, Indiana, Kathryn Gloner of New Mexico; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, James Warren Jones, her mother, Lou Vernia Griffith Jones, her sisters, Edith Meadors, Katherine Zook, Helena Zook and her brothers A.C. Jones and James Jones.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Jeffrey Pflug at the Faith Lutheran Church, 3024 North Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Faith Lutheran Church, 3024 North Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana.
