Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty-six years, Alene, his stepson, Euel Hartsfield, and by his parents, Leonard and Ione Sullivan.
Mike was a kind, generous, compassionate man who greatly loved his family and his home. He also loved his dog, Patches, lost to illness a few weeks ago. He was an outgoing person who always had time to sit down and visit with his friends. And he took pride in the home that he and his wife built together near Maypearl where they planted many flowers and trees.
Mike, always a hard worker, began his career in the family poultry operations. He moved on to work for the Nay Company and later worked several years as a cowboy in the San Saba area. Returning to Waxahachie, he started a local business known as Mike's Concrete U-Cart and Welding Shop.
Mike later worked for a number of years as an owner/operator truck driver, traveling across the U.S. and into Canada. He finished out his working career as the owner of rental properties for local small businesses in Waxahachie.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington Street, Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or online at curealz.org in memory of his wife Alene, OR to the Dinah Weable Breast Cancer Fund in memory of his mother Ione Sullivan.
