Anna Mabel Kelly, daughter of Samuel and Mary Ann Bachoritch Kelly was born on a farm north of Denison on February 2, 1890. She attended the Denison school system and graduated with the class of 1907. She furthered her education at the Iowa State Teachers College (now known as the University of Northern Iowa) at Cedar Falls, and then went on to the University of Iowa at Iowa City. She returned to teach in the Denison school system, where she taught for eighteen years.
She was united in marriage to William A. Laub, December 27, 1922, and to this union was born one daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Laub lived in their home until early 1974 when they both moved to Eventide Senior Housing, where Mrs. Laub passed away July 16, 1974.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband William. She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons all of Tacoma, Washington and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Laub had been a member of the Episcopal Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the PEO Chapter of Denison.
Funeral services for Mrs. Laub were held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Denison, at 10AM Friday, July 19, Father Glenn Rankin presiding. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Bagnall, William L. Dobler, Earl McCullough, William Norellus, J.R. Robertson and Arthur Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Kuhl and Barney Otto.
