Her parents are not conclusively known, but there were several branches of a Hall family living in Williamson County at the time she was married. There are no records to tie her to them, but autosomal DNA testing has shown that I share blocks of DNA with descendants of that Hall family, and Elizabeth's grandfather was almost certainly John Hall b. 1758 King and Queen Co., VA d. 1853 Rutherford Co., TN. Further, there is some DNA indication right now that her father may have been John's son Amos Hall, who remained in Virginia after his father moved to Tennessee. Elizabeth may have visiting her grandfather or other relatives when she met and married James Russell.
