Marva Matchen, age 80 of Eddyville, died at 10:50 am Friday, September 27, 2019 at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah.
She had been a nurse aid and a dietary cook before retiring. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick H. Matchen Sr., one son Cressell Matchen, one brother Norman Graves and one sister Sara Jean Catching. Her parents were Pete Thomas and Luther Mae Crump George.
Survivors include three sons Terrance Matchen of Princeton, Fredrick H. Matchen Jr. of Eddyville, Keith Matchen of Eddyville, six daughters Janet Smith of Princeton, Maria Matchen of Eddyville, Lisa George of Kuttawa, Tanya Gray of Princeton, Karen Matchen of Eddyville Fredda Matchen of Eddyville, one brother Pete Thomas George of Louisville, twenty-one grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Perry Boyd and Rev. Jr. Edwards officiating and burial will follow in Crab Creek Cemetery in Eddyville. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm Wednesday at Dunn's.
