Ruby Mae Gainer, 97, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.

Born July 6, 1922 in Elkhorn, WV she was the daughter of the late Dick Harvey Akers and Pearl Gillispie Akers.

She is survived by her son. Joe Gainer and wife, Betty of Harpers Ferry; one granddaughter, Kelli Duranko and husband, Lee of Charles Town; one grandson, Joey Gainer and fiance’, Ashley Messinger; 8 great-grandchildren, Kelcie, and husband, Colin, Kara, Kaitlyn, Merrill, Maeleigh, Steven, Jackson and Lincoln and one great-great grandchild, Rowan.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Merrill Gainer, one son, Richard Gainer, and two brothers, William and Shirl Akers.

Graveside services will be held at Rosedale Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
