Youngstown -- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Davis-Velker Funeral Home in Youngstown for Rutledge E. Cover, 73 of Early Road, Youngstown, who died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northside Hospital.

He was born August 1, 1903 in New Bedford, PA., a son of John V. and Lillian Messenger Cover, and was a lifetime resident.

He was employed for 46 years as a linotype operator for the Youngstown Vindicator, retiring in 1966. Mr. Cover was a member of the Struthers Church of Christ, chairman and past deacon of the church, and a 15-year member of the International Typographical Union 200.

Besides his wife, the former Miss Mary (Betty) Hute whom he married 47 years ago, he leaves a daughter Mrs. Leota Ann Rosson of Erick, Oklahoma; a son, David Cover of North Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. Vern Davis of Youngstown, Mrs. Ruth Luxom of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Lillian Bergman of Alvin, Texas, and eight grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 pm.
