Professional Football Player. For three seasons (2007 until his death), he played at the defensive end position in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. He attended Cambridge Academy in Greenwood and Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. He played collegiate football at Clemson University, where he achieved first-team All-American status (2006), also being named ACC Defensive Player of the Year (2006). He was chosen by Tampa Bay during the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft and appeared in 47 career games, recording 13.5 sacks. His most successful season was in 2008, when he recorded 6.5 sacks and 2 interceptions for 50 yards with 1 touchdown. He died from cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart at the age of 26.
