Domenic Baldassare (Ret. Maj. P.P.D.), 67, a resident for 30 years of Lincoln, Rhode Island, formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, who served with the Providence Police Department from 1958 until his retirement as Major in 1993, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 2, 2002.
Domenic is survived by his wife Ann, his son William (Bill) and daughter Jennifer (Jen).
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2002, 4-8 p.m., at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 6, 8:30 a.m., at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be at Swan Point Cemetery, with full major policeman honors. Memorial donations are appreciated to Volunteer Services for Animals, Lincoln Chapter, 25 Wellington Road, Lincoln, RI 02865.
