Bernie was a graduate of Reitz High School in 1951 and was employed with AT&T for over 29 years as an Ameritech Switchman. He was a lifetime bowler and bowled professionally with the Senior Pro Bowling Association for over 10 years, traveling throughout the United States. He bowled 18 perfect 300 games and was in inducted into the Evansville Bowlers Hall of Fame. He enjoyed dancing, boating and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Cyrilla (Waigand Daily) Carlisle of 28 years; children, David ( Birdena) Carlisle, Bloomington, IN, Rebecca “Sue” (Danny) Kirves, Cynthia ( Jim ) Secor of Bacliff, Texas, Carla (Dennis) Beaton, Patricia ( Jeff) Cron, and Russell (Sarah) Carlisle, all of Evansville; Cyrilla’s children, Mark (Debi) Daily, Evansville, Cathleen (Steele Gorrell) Daily, Cincinnati, OH, William (Marjorie) Daily, Newburgh, James “Jad” (Jenny) Daily, Evansville, and Christa (Chris) King, Evansville; 27 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Beatrice Taylor and Allyne Dickinson.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville and will continue on Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm Friday with Pastor Charles Mac Isaac officiating.
