Gordon Edward Bunn passed away quickly and quietly on June 26, 2007, in Keene. He was at the Loop Ranch visiting family.

Born November 18, 1929, to Edith Lougy and Arthur Smith Bunn at Tooele, Utah, he was the youngest of four children. Gordon married Bonnie Mae Maxfield on June 9, 1948, in Salt Lake City.

He worked in ranching and construction during his younger years, and moved to Mojave in 1961.

During his years in Mojave he supervised the Purdy Company, a railroad salvage yard, and then in 1968 bought the Hammer and Nail hardware store, which he and Bonnie operated for 26 years.

During those years he served as Scout Master, and as councilman and president of the Mojave Public Utility District for several terms unopposed. He served as Branch President, Bishop and High Councilman of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until he retired.

After retirement, he and Bonnie owned and operated Little Acre RV Park in Quartzsite, Ariz., where they spent their winter months. They spent their summers at Terrebonne, Ore.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie, and their children Kae and husband John Ligon, of Tehachapi; Dalmas and wife Lori Bunn, of Keene; Jeff Bunn and fiancé Kerry Monk, of Ridgecrest. He is also survived by grandchildren Amy and husband JR Aguirre, Tony and wife Cindy Montoya, Matt and wife Jena Robinson, Kobie and husband TJ Trani, Bethany and husband Chad Fouts, Derek and wife Kristy Bunn, Laura Robinson, Kristen and husband Chris McKaskey, Katie Bunn, Kendra Bunn and Ben Bunn. Also Johnnie Ligon, Tina and husband Glenn Barrett, Shawna and husband Rich Whitestine, Derek and wife Gina Ligon, Amy Snavely, and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norman Bunn and wife Marjorie of Stockton, Utah.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George, his sister Marge, and grandson Adam Plummer.

Services were handled by Wood Family Funeral Services of Tehachapi. He was interred at Tehachapi Cemetery West. Scott Maxfield, Stake President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted the service.

'Grandpa' is loved and respected by many and he will be dearly missed. He will always be in our hearts.
