I remember images of the young babygirl, choosing to go for a long daytime snooze in the middlespot between my dressers on a blanket, while I went to work, completely content. I remember playing with her, running with a long stick on the ground so she could chase, then her sliding to a stop by the a/c while i rested, catching my breath , in the deep bushes only we knew about, her secret hiding spot, while I told her she was “the junglepanther”, very content.
I remember long memories of her “snuggling up “ in my lap while watching TV, for a long snooze for hours on end. During the last year of her life, I decided to let her out to the front yard at least once per day while she enjoyed the sights, sounds, smells of her cul de sac, while we went on her “adventure walk” each day. Again she had a secret hiding spot only we knew, content to know her uncle Jeff was always close, always safe.
I will always love her as she holds a secret place in my heart, as she patiently awaits my arrival with all my other kitty's who’ve touched my heart, together again, for all eternity. ~J.D.
Andy writes, "Babygirl was suffering from kidney disease. We kept her alive with subcutaneous IV treatments two to three times a week for two years and one month. The last month I called in to the vet and asked if there was anything we could do as Babygirl was acting, ''funny." They said, "We could up her IV treatment to every single day. Babygirl seemed to improve or stabilize then just as I was leaving for my doctor's appointment Babygirl was howling and her front paw seemed to be paralyzed. We rushed her into the doctor. With treatment she was 35% better but X-ray showed she had water on the heart (probably due to the daily IV treatments.) Babygirl had a rough night and then perished the next morning around 7:00 AM. We grieved very hard all weekend but made the decision to celebrate her life with a new kitten named, "Gracie."
