James Obie Pearce, 60, died Friday, Jan. 15, at Hamilton Health Care Center.

Services were Monday, Jan. 18, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kirk Parsons officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Pearce was born Jan. 5, 1939, in Hamilton, the son of Willard O. and Lucy Crain Pearce. He was married to Linda Atchley on Jan. 7, 1964, at the Lund Valley Church in Hamilton County. He was a past member of the US Army Reserves, loved the outdoors and enjoyed his work as a farmer and rancher. He and his wife were also prior owners of the Dinner Bell Restaurant. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Lynn Pearce.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Pearce of Hamilton; two sons, Lynn Pearce and wife Pam of Hamilton and Danan L. Pearce of Arlington; a brother, Kenneth Lowrance of Clifton; and three grandchildren, James, Mellisa and Sarah Pearce.

Pallbearers were Elton Brigham, James Rice, Les Ethetton, Garland Anglin Jr., Dewayne Glover and Jerry Massingill.
