Finnish Politician, Lawyer, and Judge. He was born one of five children as Toivo Armas Aalto-Setälä in Köyliöe, Finland, to farmers Josef Gustafsson Aalto (1861-1916), and his wife Aina Sofia Setälä Aalto (1866-1957). He was educated locally and later enrolled, attended, and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in law in 1921. Following his education, he commenced his practice of law and then became involved in politics. He served his country as a member of the Parliament of Finland from September 2, 1927, to July 31, 1929, and from October 21, 1930, to August 31, 1933, representing the National Coalition Party in the northern constituency of Turku County, Finland. He was the President's Elector in the Presidential Elections of 1950 and 1956 and served as Chairman of the Rauma City, Finland, Council from 1941 to 1947. He was a Member of the Coalition's Party Delegation and a prominent Member of the Board of the Finnish Reserve Officers' Union, among many other things. He was a lawyer in Rauma, Finland, from 1921 to 1930. He was also a Junior Legal Advisor in Rauma, Finland's Probate Court and Magistrate's Office from 1922 to 1929 and as a Judicial Mayor from 1930 to 1953. After that, he was a Judge of the Eura Court in Rauma, Finland, from 1953 to 1959, a Judge of the Ulvila Court in Pori, Finland, from 1959 to 1966, and a Manager of a Legal Office in Rauma, Finland, from 1966 to 1970. He was also a Military Judge from 1942 to 1946, a Teacher at Rauma, Finland's Maritime School, and the Corresponding Editor of the Länsi-Suomi Magazine from 1932 to 1933, 1938, and 1942. He received the Mayor's Rank in 1954 and Layman's Title in 1965. He continued with his law practice and interests in political offices until his death. He passed away in Rauma, Finland, on April 3, 1977, at the age of 81, and he was buried in Rauma Monna Cemetery in Rauma, Finland. He was married to Katri Maria Horelli Aalto-Setälä (1899-1992), from 1922 until his death on April 3, 1977, at the age of 81. The couple had one child together, a son named Heikki Reko Ilmari Aalto-Setälä (1944-2012). His wife Katri survived her husband and passed away in Rauma, Finland, on November 10, 1992, at the age of 93, and she is buried with him in Rauma Monna Cemetery in Rauma, Finland.
