Eilene M. Melgaard, 86, of Colfax passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Area Nursing Home in Colfax.
She was born on July 18, 1920, in the town of Drammen, Eau Claire County, Wis., to Philip and Gena (Easterson) Jones. She married Reuben Melgaard on Aug. 1, 1941, in Eau Claire.
She is survived by two sons, David (Lois) Melgaard of Chippewa Falls and Roger (Ailsa) Melgaard of Mobile, Ala.; two daughters, Judy Lehr of New Berlin and Jo-Ann (Randy) Wendt of Jefferson; one brother, Roger (Evelyn) Jones, of Colfax; 15 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; sisters-in law, Goldie (Raymond) Larson of Wausau, Joan Melgaard of Cornell and Laila Melgaard of Rice Lake; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Worden Jones; and one grandchild, Ken Melgaard.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at Sampson-Kastner Funeral Home in Colfax, with the Rev. Les Walck officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax at a later date.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home in Colfax.
