Mrs. Ida Lee Evans

MARLIN (SPL) - Mrs. Ida Lee Evans, 90, of Marlin, formerly of Marquez, died Sunday evening in a Marlin rest home.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Marquez. Burial will be in Marquez Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans was born March 8, 1887, in Leon County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Peoples. She married George Evans and the couple farmed in the Marquez area until his death in 1948. Mrs. Evans moved to Houston in 1948, where she lived until 1976. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, S.E. Evans of Marlin and A.B. Evans of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Glenn of Marlin and Mrs. May Belle Baker of Houston; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
