Kathleen (Kathy) Kay Law was born in Tucson, Arizona to Kay Ying & Laura Bertha Law. She passed from this life to be with the Lord after a long battle with congestive heart failure in Portland, OR. She was 84 years old.

Kathy met her husband at church in Portland, OR. They were married on June 15, 1957 and started a family four years later with two children. Kathy did work outside the home, but spent most of her time as a mother & homemaker. They were fortunate to celebrate 62 years of marriage just days before her passing.

Kathy's love extended beyond her family as evident by her & her husband's involvement at Chinese Baptist Church as High School Youth leaders for many years. She served as a deaconess and helped found Chinese Faith Baptist Church years later. She loved music & sang special music at Chinese Baptist Church & Chinese Faith Baptist Church.

Her friends and family knew Kathy for her love of baking, especially cookies and cakes. There were many years where she made & delivered special Christmas cookie trays with at least 10 varieties of treats. She also baked cakes and was an expert cake cutter (she was the cake cutter at many friends' weddings). Kathy was also a talented cook and was known for her ability to whip up better than restaurant quality food without a recipe or exact measurements. Some of her specialties are inari sushi, sweet & sour pork, char-su pork, tomato chow-yuk & much more.

Kathy was a woman of many talents. Not only was she known for her expert culinary skills, she was a gifted seamstress. She would stay up endless nights making baby rompers with custom appliquรฉs or hand paintings, and sometimes entered them at the Multnomah County Fair, winning 1st or 2nd place ribbons. She was known to make dresses, ski coats, backpacks & bags.

Kathy had a kind smile and the biggest heart. She is survived by her husband, daughter, son, brother-in-law, niece, 3 grandchildren, and other relatives too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chinese Faith Baptist Church (1595 Greentree Rd, Lake Oswego, OR 97034).

Memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Chinese Faith Baptist Church, 1595 Greentree Rd, Lake Oswego, OR 97034.
