An excerpt from "The Reminiscenses of Morgan County" by A. G. Copeland
Ped Basham married one of H. Junkins sisters and lived for years on the Decatur road north of Flint. He was a good citizen, pious Christian, and an earnest bright Mason. He died many years ago greatly respected by the many neighbors and friends who knew him well. "A name is better than riches".

Three of our best members have died during the past year. Bro. A. F. Basham, a most excellent member, was the first to die. In the Grange, in Masonry, and in the Church, he stood high.
