Gerald Lee Gillin, 65, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 in Dallas. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation for friends and family will be from 6-8 pm Friday, July 12, 2019 at Jones Family Funeral Home. 

Jerry was born September 3, 1953 in San Diego, California to Merle Charles Gillin and wife Helen Ann Mehas. Jerry worked in construction for many years, but for the past 20 years until his retirement he worked in law enforcement.

He was the family jokester and loved to spend time with family.

Gerald is survived by sons Bennett Gregg and wife Leeanne of Bridgeport, and Troy Gregg and wife D'Layna of Alvord, Texas; daughters Jayme Padilla and husband Anthony of Stinnett, Texas, and Rebecca Shook of Houston, Texas; mother Helen Gillin of Santee, California; brothers John Gillin of Santee, James Gillin of Eagle Point, Oregon; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Toni L. (Bennett) Gillin, and father Merle Gillin.
