Donnie attended school at Sunnyview until the eighth grade. He made many childhood friends and treasured each of them.
While sitting on his back deck, by himself, in the summer of 1987, June 16, specifically, Donnie made the most important decision of his life. He professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He was baptized at Moon Valley Creek by Freddie Burchum. At the time of his passing, Donnie had been an active and faithful member of Emmanuel Chapel Pentecostal Church. He also taught Sunday School and hauled children to church. He had a servant’s heart and one of his greatest rewards was spreading the word of God.
Donnie was no stranger to hard work and took great pride in providing for his family. For many years he worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he drove a route truck. Those who worked with him appreciated his customer service and attention to detail.
On December 18, 2009, Donnie was united in marriage with Martha Dean. Together they shared nearly ten years of love and laughter together.
Donnie had a variety of hobbies. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed watching westerns, especially those with John Wayne. He loved hunting and fishing and his dog, “Annie.” However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories shared with his family. He loved them dearly.
He is survived by his wife Martha; four sons, Mark Ruble and his wife Kelly of Springfield, MO, Jackie Ruble, Allen Ruble and his wife Christina, and Scotty Ruble, all of Lebanon, MO; three daughters, Chloa Sharp and her husband Brian of Nixa, MO, Melissa Wells and her husband Cary of Willard, MO and Rebecca Ruble of Lebanon, MO; two brothers, Leo Rubles and his wife Carolyn and Leslie Rubles and his wife Deborah, all of Lebanon, MO; one sister, Connie Anderson and her husband Donnie, also of Lebanon, MO; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Lonnie Lee in infancy; brother, Henry; and two sisters, Mary Lou Henson and Katherine Jane Files.
Those who knew Donnie will forever cherish the memories they shared together. He was a simple man that was loving and kind. He had a dynamic personality and loved his family and friends unconditionally. Our loss was certainly Heaven’s gain.
