Great Grandpa, 13th child- Joe was born at Hickory Spring, an area just east of todays Mt. Grove, MO. Census says they were at Hartville P.O. but that was because in 1867 there was only two known P.O.'s in the county Hartville and Mansfield.
Joe migrated with his parents and their families from MO to MS at Aberdeen and Amory. Here he met Dora Lou Walters, they married in1887 Monroe County,MS. Then in 1888, they migrated to Texas, Nocona over to Roscoe, TX . In 1898, they migrated to O.T. Now Oklahoma and settled first in Washita Co. OK. They stayed here several years near Port, OK. bought and sold lands lived at Sentinel, and over to Blair OK. and in their later years moved to Oakwood, and Eagle City, OK. Joe passed away at Eagle City at their home. Sometime later Dora Roper moved back to Oakwood near her son, Ray Alexander and wife Mae Ellen Stringer- ROPER.
